Japan Finance Calculators JPY
By Chuck, Finance Atlas — Updated October 2026
Ten free financial calculators for Japan, in Japanese yen (JPY, ¥): personal loans and credit-card instalments, mortgages with the optional bonus-repayment split, home affordability, car finance, savings and investment growth. Japan's statutory context is built in — the Interest Restriction Act caps, the one-third-of-income rule (総量規則) and the Flat 35 loan-to-value pricing tiers — and you enter the interest rate your lender, issuer or bank quotes. We never guess the market rate.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which Japan calculators are available on Finance Atlas?
Ten tools: four loan and debt calculators (personal loan, loan affordability, debt consolidation, and credit card & instalment), two mortgage calculators (repayment and affordability), a car loan calculator, and three savings and growth calculators (savings, compound interest and investment growth). They all work in Japanese yen (JPY).
Do these calculators use the current Japanese interest rate?
No — by design. Japanese lending rates vary by lender, product and borrower, and they change with policy. You enter the annual interest rate your bank, issuer or lender quotes; the pre-filled example rates are clearly labelled as illustrative examples only — NOT current Japanese market rates.
What currency do the Japan calculators use?
Japanese yen (JPY, ¥) — never Chinese yuan or any other currency that shares the ¥ symbol. Every result states its currency, and large amounts also show the 万 (man) notation used in Japanese listings, where 100万円 = ¥1,000,000.
Do the calculators follow Japanese rules?
Where rules exist, yes: the Interest Restriction Act caps (20%/18%/15% by loan size), the Money Lending Business Act's one-third-of-income rule (総量規則), the Flat 35 loan-to-value pricing tiers (90% or less versus above 90%) and the standard variable-rate review conventions are all reflected in the on-page context. They are educational estimates, not credit decisions — your lender's terms govern.
Is anything I type sent to a server?
No. Every calculation runs locally in your browser. Nothing you type is transmitted, stored or logged.
